Saturday, April 27, 2023 | 11:30 - 1 PM

Hosted at The Full Circle Studio
655 Highland Avenue NortheastAtlanta, GA, 30312 (map)

Experience ultimate relaxation with our Restorative Yoga Class combined with a Sound Bowl & Japanese Inspired Silent Tea Ceremony.

Hosted by Mara Rosaria & Akiko Denise

In this class, you'll enjoy: gentle restorative yoga poses to release tension and stress, harmonizing sound vibrations from crystal singing bowls to deepen relaxation and meditation, and a soothing tea ceremony to nurture your body and mind.

Benefits of the combination: restorative yoga helps release tension in the body, while the sound vibrations from the bowls further relax muscles and joints, and tea ceremonies are known for their calming and grounding effects, enhancing emotional well-being and resilience.

Senchado, is a form of Japanese tea ceremony that has origins in Buddhism, as tea was introduced to Japan buddhist monks by way of China. Much like Gongfu cha (Chinese tea ceremony), the practice of Senchado holds a vast spaciousness and stillness inside of it. It is an art form of presence in action. A mindful communing with nature through the elements of wood, water, leaves, and breath. It is a way to discover the fullness of what is through an ancient and powerful practice of ceremonial ritual.

Don't miss this opportunity to rejuvenate your body, mind, and spirit.

Qigong {gong bath}

April 14, 2024 | 11:00 - 12:15 PM

Hosted at Sacred Garden Yoga

369 Campbell Hill Street
Marietta, GA 30060 (map)

Qigong is an ancient Taoist practice and is the oldest branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Some researchers trace it even further back to the dances and movements of Chinese shamanic practices or Wuism. Through these ritualist dances, the shamans would enter into a state of deep trance to communicate with the spirit world.

In more modern times, Qigong has been used as a martial art, spiritual practice and as a healing modality to restore health and vitality to the body, mind and spirit. It has been known to lower blood pressure, reduce stress and anxiety, balance emotions (anger, grief, fear, worry), and may even reduce the risk of chronic illness. It is meditative, deeply relaxing, grounding and energizing. It is guided by breath, movement, and intention.

This will be an evening consisting of gentle Qigong exercises, followed by a sound bath to further encourage relaxation and the movement of 'qi' (life force energy) in the body.

You will also be led to explore the deeper parts of yourself through the healing tones of the gong which helps to move energetic blockages and heavy emotions that we tend to hold on to in our physical and energetic bodies.

A few things before you arrive:

Please bring a yoga mat, blankets and pillows for optimal comfort.

Please wear comfortable clothes

Doors open at 6:30 pm

The last 15 mins will be reserved for anyone that would like to discuss their journey and/or integrate their experience.

I hope you join me for this very special event!

Despacho Ceremony + Sound Bath

Saturday, March 9, 2024 | 7 - 8:30 PM

Hosted at Decatur Healing Arts
619 E College Ave. Suite A, Decatur, 30030 (map)

The Despacho Ceremony is a sacred ritual performed to create an offering to the Divine Mother, known as Pachamama in the Q'ero tradition. This ceremony involves the crafting of a prayer packet filled with various symbolic items representing abundance, beauty, and gratitude. Ingredients such as rice, sugar, nuts, seeds, beans, dried fruits, chocolate, candy, and flowers are carefully selected to embody the essence of a heartfelt gift to a mother figure.

During the ceremony, participants infuse their intentions and prayers into the offering, symbolically blowing them into a group of three leaves, known as a kintu, from a sacred plant. While coca leaves are traditionally used in the Andean region, alternatives such as bay leaves or leaves from a rose bush can be utilized in other parts of the world. This act symbolizes the connection between the physical and spiritual realms, as well as the interconnectedness of humanity with nature and the cosmos.
Following the creation of the prayer packet, participants engage in various methods of offering it to the Cosmic forces, including burning it in fire, burying it in the Earth, or releasing it to the waters. This act of offering aims to foster balance and reciprocity, known as 'Ayni,' and strengthen the bond between individuals and the natural world.

The Despacho Ceremony is not only a means of furthering personal healing but also a way to express gratitude and fortify the connection with nature and the cosmos. Participants gather in sacred space to collectively imbue the prayer packet with their offerings and intentions, creating a powerful energetic exchange.

Additionally, the ceremony will be followed by a sound bath led by Jeremy and Mara, enhancing the overall experience and deepening the participants' connection with themselves and the divine.

Overall, the Despacho Ceremony serves as a profound spiritual practice that honors the Earth, fosters healing and gratitude, and cultivates harmony within oneself and the universe.
